Accessing server logs is crucial for troubleshooting issues, monitoring server performance, and maintaining server security. In Pterodactyl (the game panel), finding server logs is straightforward and can be done directly from the control panel. This guide will walk you through the process of locating server logs in Pterodactyl, enabling you to gain insights into your server’s activities and diagnose any potential issues.

Step 1: Accessing the Game Panel

To access your game panel, follow the instructions here.

Step 2: Navigating to the Server

Once logged in, locate and click on the server for which you want to view the logs. This will take you to the server management interface, where you can access various settings and information related to the selected server.

Step 3: Accessing the Terminal

It’s very easy to access this, being that when you click on the server it already appears. In the terminal window you can see all the logs for your server, but if you want past logs, then you can do that by going into your files.

Step 4: Finding the past logs for your server

To find logs for your game server, it depends what server you have.

Minecraft Servers

Finding the logs for your minecraft server is fairly simple, you open the ‘Files’ tab, then locate the ‘logs’ folder in your root directory.

Palworld Servers

Finding the logs for your palworld server is a little more tricky, but is still fairly simple. First open the ‘Files’ tab like we did in ‘Minecraft Servers’, then click on the ‘Steam’ folder. Then you will see the ‘logs’ folder, where you will see all the logs for your palworld server.

Step 5: What do you do now?

Finding your logs is crucial for you to get support. If there is any problems with your server, you should open a ticket in your client area and a member of staff will help you. They will need the logs for your server to find out what the problem is.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully located server logs in Pterodactyl, empowering you to monitor server activity, diagnose issues, and ensure the smooth operation of your server environment.
