Setting up databases in your game panel

Introduction:

Databases are a critical component of many applications and game servers, storing essential data such as user information, game progress, and configuration settings. In Pterodactyl, setting up databases is essential for ensuring that your applications and game servers have access to the necessary data storage. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up databases in Pterodactyl, enabling you to manage your data effectively and efficiently.

Step 1: Accessing your Game Panel

You can follow instructions on how to access your game panel here.

Step 2: Navigating to the Database Management Interface

Once logged in, locate and click on the server for which you want to set up a database. This will take you to the server management interface, where you can access various settings and options related to the selected server.

Step 3: Accessing the Database Management Section

In the server management interface, look for the “Databases” option in the sidebar. Click on it.

Step 4: Creating a New Database

Within the database management interface, you’ll find the option to create a new database. Click on the “New Database” button to initiate the database creation process.

Step 5: Configuring Database Details

When creating a new database, you just have to provide the name for it, and the game panel will do the rest. You can also have the option to allow connections from specific IP addresses, but if you want to allow connections from anywhere, leave the ‘Connections From’ field blank.

Step 6: Accessing Database Credentials

Upon successful creation, Pterodactyl will provide you with the database credentials, including the database hostname or IP address, username, password, and port number. Make note of these credentials as you’ll need them to configure your applications or game servers to connect to the database.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully set up a database in Pterodactyl, providing your applications and game servers with the necessary data storage to operate effectively. By following these steps, you can manage your databases efficiently and ensure seamless data access for your server environment.
